Planning a house or office move
The two things that most affect a moving quote are the volume of items and the distance between the old and new place, so a mover will usually ask for a rough inventory — number of bedrooms, whether you have large appliances, and if there is a lift or the items must be carried down stairs.
Access at both ends matters just as much as the load itself. Narrow gates, no parking near the entrance, or a top-floor apartment without a lift all add time and labour, so mention these details up front rather than leaving the crew to discover them on the day.
- Rough inventory of rooms and large items to size the truck needed
- Access details at pick-up and drop-off — stairs, gates, parking
- Timing for a move within Kampala versus an upcountry relocation
- Whether the move includes an office with electronics and files
