Leaking tap and leaking pipe repairs

Most plumbing calls in Kampala start with a drip. A worn washer or cartridge in a mixer tap is a small job, but a leak on a buried supply line under a screed floor or inside a wall needs tracing before anything is cut open. A plumber will usually isolate the main, pressure-test the line and open only the section that is failing.

Galvanised iron lines installed in older Kampala houses corrode from the inside and start weeping at the threads; PPR and PEX lines usually fail at a badly welded joint or fitting. Telling the plumber which of the two you have saves a trip for materials.
